Antique Bird on Swing Sewing Bird Early 1900’s Trade Braid Bird Mark Fern Carter’s
Fern Carter’s sewing bird or clamp believed to be used for crafting rugs. The bird is able to swing on its perch. Bird is manufactured from pot metal and the remainder of the clamp is brass plated steel.
It has a friction clamp. The tail of the bird is stamped with Braid Bird Trade Mark. The finial has a stamped waffled diamond on it.
Clamp measures 5 1/4 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide, plus 1 q/2 inch clamp.
