    Description

Antique Figural Mother of Pearl Fish Thread Winder
    English * Circa 1850
This charming silk winder is carved of mother of pearl in the form of a slender fish. His mouth and tail form the indentations for wrapping thread and it's wrapped with very fine blue silk. He has little scales and an eye carved on both sides and the condition is excellent with no chips or other damage.
It measures 2 1/4" long by 1/2" high and
    was bought in England.
I collect sewing and other items with a fish shape and just love these little fishy pieces.
